Character Theme Songs

Dante


This is just SOOOOO Dante.....He just wants people to love D: And well...Dave needs love to!!

MAXIM



Reason: It's a strange song (Josh Homme's a weird motherfucker) but I like to think it sums up Max pretty well. He's leading Gaia and staying under the radar, and things are getting odder and more complex by the moment. Loyalties and secrets are getting skewed - 'Whatever you do, don't tell anyone'.

THADDEUS



Reason: JESUS this song is angry. Cool as hell, but angry. It sums up Thaddeus through and through and the whirling maelstrom in his head and body: 'I don't give a fuck if you hate me.'

PAYTON



Reason: Credits to Kenny. Fucking awesome song. Summarises Payton pretty well. 'We stand by our ways, it is not just a game we play'. Mission statement to Gaia? I think so.

Alrighty then. Let's do this.

Panic

Henry Purcell - Funeral for Queen Mary


It was a toss up between this or the Walter Carlos version that was used for Clockwork Orange; both of them are great, and really capture the coldness of the character, and also a lot of his underlying menace that suggests that, when it comes to Gaia, he might not be as on the level as he seems to be. Even though I prefer the Clockwork Orange version, though, I ultimately went for the Purcell version for Panic's theme; the Carlos one has a lot of sadistic glee and a lot of air in it despite the coldness, while Purcell has a lot more of a distance to it, and towards the 1:10 mark, it goes into overdrive; the drums get heavier, the tune becomes louder and everything just feels more oppressive and brutal; it brings a lot less joy and much more of the repressed temper and ruthlessness.

Otto

Soilwork - Cranking The Sirens


Total matchup for Otto. Makes sense for how he hides his true colors, is constantly moving, and won't ally himself with anyone or make any bonds in fear of others getting hurt (along with himself).

Marie

I think there isn't much that needs to be said here. The lyrics say it all.

Alice Cooper - Poison
